CDA Seeks Books as Birthday Gifts
BRING DONATIONS OF PRE-KINDERGARTEN BOOKS
AS Early Childhood Learning Birthday Gifts
This year CDA, Child Development Association and the Roswell Farmers & Artisans Market are partnering for an absolutely wonderful project and cause. There is nothing like the gift of knowledge and creative wonder that a book can offer a child. Dreams are made, the relationship bond of parent & child is reinforced, and that tender moment of together time during bedtime stories encourages and strengthens a child’s world.
The need and solution are simple – New (or like-new) pre-kindergarten books to be given to local area children through CDA for Birthday presents. They are also trying to create home libraries for local families and are requesting any books that you may have at home for this purpose. Unfortunately when food, utilities and basic household costs can be overwhelming, the items deemed “non-essential” can be placed on hold, not through lack of love and concern, but simple necessity. This is where Roswell neighbors can come together and give a helping hand to its youngest members of the community.
Roswell Farmers & Artisans Market has partnered as a drop-off location for these donations. Every Saturday from 8:00 – 12:00 Noon, we will be accepting books on behalf of CDA. Stop by the Welcome tent and simply deposit your gift on the bookshelf.
The idea is easy and so very important. If you’re like me, you can remember your favorite books that were given as Birthday gifts: Paddington Bear, Curious George and Where the Wild Things Are, not to mention every Ronald Dahl and Ramona Book. They were prized, loved, read and reread. Books and the time spent together reading create memories and bonds and through a simple act of your kindness dreams can be made.
