Spring Kale Salad – Sunflower Seeds, Pears and Cheese!

Spring Kale Salad  Ingredients 2 bunches of kale, washed, de-stem, leaves chopped 1 pear, chopped or sliced (may substitute strawberries) 1/4 cup toasted sunflower seeds 1/4 cup shredded cheese, parmesan or rubusto salt to taste 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon maple syrup 2 tablespoons olive oil Instructions Whisk the rice & balsamic vinegars, maple syrup, & olive oil in a bowl. Toss dressing with chopped kale. Season with salt. Toss in pear, seeds, and cheese.

Smooth Transition Set for New Market Manager

Chef Woody Back, President of the Roswell Farmers and Artisans Market Association, is delighted to announce Tricia Nitti as Market Manager for 2015. She is taking the position left vacant by former volunteer Market Manager, Michael McLane. Orzo Pasta Salad with Tomatoes, Corn and Basil

MEAL HIGHLIGHTS Serves: 4 to 6 Prep Time: 20 min. Cook Time: 15 min. According to a recent NY Times poll, 90% of Americans polled think that products containing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) should be labelled as such. The Center for Food Safety, which tracks such things, says much of the developed world already has label laws on the books. It took a $46-million infusion of campaign cash from Monsanto, DuPont and other agribusiness giants to narrowly defeat the California initiative that would have imposed mandatory labeling.
